libdbd-excel-perl software package provides provides an SQL interface (via DBI) for accessing Excel files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libdbd-excel-perl
libdbd-excel-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libdbd-excel-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libdbd-excel-perl *
You will get with libdbd-excel-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
